Developing Shipbuilding Standards in Nigeria
For the past 4 months Josiah Edmond, Director & Senior Consultant at Smyna and Dr Adeoye, Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Bell University of Technology have been working hard on developing and mapping shipbuilding value chain for the Nigerian shipbuilding industry. Today we are excited to announce that our completed work will be showcased at the TECHNICAL MEETING ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHIPBUILDING STANDARD & MASTER PLAN FOR NIGERIA holding at the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology conference this Saturday, the 13th of August 2016 at the Welcome Center Airport Road Lagos Nigeria.
The project entitled "End to End Shipbuilding Value Chain Driven by The Cabotage Act" discusses on the four main components of the principles of Value Chain: Inputs, Outputs, After-sales Servicing & Support, and Sales & Marketing. Using the above four End to End Value Chain components we identified and presented essential shipbuilding value-adding functions, mapped and aligned identified shipbuilding value-adding functions in a set of algorithmic structure.
